Air France will offer free lessons in as many as 23 languages on 17 long-range Boeing 777-300 planes beginning in April.
The "totally interactive" system, provided by Montreal-based DTI Software, includes a teacher, pronunciation exercises, tests and games for practice, Air France said.
At the end of each lesson, students will receive a grade.
Languages offered will include English, French, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Cantonese, Korean, Greek, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Malay, Indonesian, Tamil, Dutch, Vietnamese, Turkish, Tagalog and Danish.
